Beautiful barnwood plank installation
A picture is indeed worth a thousand words especially when it comes to our reclaimed barnwood plank flooring. We are very grateful to our customer Marc Sherman for being so gracious and not only taking amazing photos of his new floor but allowing us to share them with you.
Marc needed an engineered product for this project but wanted the reclaimed look. He chose our barnwood plank reclaimed flooring in random widths from 6"-10". Marc also opted to do pre finished flooring with Rubio Monocoat pure oil. We always like to see the organic oil on our reclaimed floors as it is a perfect fit.
Barnwood plank is a mixed species floor resulting in a gorgeous range of colors and grain. The surface has a light skip sawn look adding to its rustic character.
Rustic and rough paired with some rich blue soft textures are perfect. Reclaimed wood with all its knots and nail holes works so well with modern furnishings because of its warm, organic colors.
If your project calls for engineered you can choose from any of our new or reclaimed floors. We offer both 5/8" and 3/4" engineered floors. Once these floors are installed only you will know it is an engineered product.
That open second story is great for taking in this view of the flooring. As you can see the sheen on the floor is very matte but this is perfect for reclaimed wood. Reclaimed floors with a sheen can tend to look a bit plastic and faked.
That is quite a plant collection they have going there! Keeping those thumbs green eh Marc? There is something special about a barefoot walk on reclaimed floors that have a little texture. It feels good!
Wider planks do require a space like this with lots of natural light and high ceilings. It comes downt to a question of spatial relationships. Just as a narrow floor would look odd in this space a wide floor would look odd in a smaller space.
