Warm and inviting walnut
Walnut is just one of those woods that draw our attention so easily. Warm red browns and creamy light sap colors are fulfilling to the eye. Walnut has been largely considered more the purview of the fine furniture maker due to an inherent visual elegance but we think it also looks great on your floor.
This sample shot perfectly illustrates the color and grain variation found in walnut. The second board from the bottom shows a light amount of sap content showing just a touch of a lighter but still warm color. The knots in the sample lend a nice visual balance to the overall look and feel of the planks.
Did I mention the elegance of walnut? This installation is one of the most spectacular we have ever seen. This patterned floor is also handscraped for a fantastic textured look. Note how the walnut competes hard with the cool white walls for color dominance. Once the room is decorated the contrast will be toned down but yet still having a huge impact of the overall tone of the room.
This image shows off the textures much better. Walnut does not really need the dressing up of handscraping but in this case it definitely ramps up the visual quality of the flooring.
How different does this walnut floor look from the other images? Photographing flooring and getting the color right is an art form unto itself so while this walnut floor looks much lighter than the other ones pictured but it is the same warm color.
Wow do I love that space. Again we see what a strong and wonderful contrast the walnut floor provides. All that light and space would overwhelm a lighter floor but the walnut coloration remains powerful.
We often get asked about putting your new or reclaimed hardwood in the bathroom. Are there risks well only if you don't clean up! The walnut here looks like a perfect offset to the tile pattern in the shower/bathroom area.
This second floor view shows off the sap and grain variation you can expect in a walnut floor character grade. Our character grade has a wonderful amount of knot and grain variation to give your floor a truly dynamic look and feel.
